Ingredients: (for 20 energy balls) 

1/2 cup nuts of your choice (a mix of walnuts and whole almonds tastes perfect – you can use pecans) 

1/3 cup coconut flakes 

1.5 tablespoons cocoa powder 

1 tablespoon water 

1 tablespoon vegetable oil 

15 pitted Medjool dates 

A pinch of salt 


in a food processor, process the nuts until they are fine 

Add the rest of the ingredients and process on medium/high speed until a dough form 

Transfer to a bowl 

Using a tablespoon as a scoop, form the balls (tablespoon size) 

Roll the balls in extra coconut flakes 

Chill until serving

5 eggs at room temperature

1 cup powder sugar 

1 tsp vanilla 

1 cup vegetable oil 

1 cup flour 

1 TBS baking powder 

2 cups coconut flakes 

1/2 or 3/4 sugar syrup (قطر) 

(Depends on how sweet u like it) 


Preheat oven to 170 degrees C 

Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla for 2 mn on high speed 

While beating gradually add oil, flour and baking powder until they re combined 

Gently fold coconut flakes into the batter 

Bake for 30-40 min 

Pour cold sugar syrup on the hot cake 

Garnish with some extra coconut flakes
